Aircraft Attributes

Identification & Classification

  • Tailsign - Individual aircraft tail registration

  • Serial Number - Unique serial number for aircraft

  • Aircraft Register - Unique manufacturer serial number for individual aircraft

  • Aircraft Type - ICAO code for aircraft platform

  • Aircraft Model - Specific model designation (e.g., Challenger 604)

  • Aircraft OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer (airframer)

Specifications

  • Aircraft Category - Classification by propulsion type and segment: airliner jet (narrowbody, regional, widebody), airliner prop (regional), jet (business aviation and military), piston (business aviation), prop (business aviation and military)

  • Aircraft Segment - Aircraft segmented according to size and range

  • Aircraft Size - Aggregating aircraft segments into Large, Medium, Small

  • Aircraft Weight Band (kg) - Aircraft categorised by maximum takeoff weight ranges

  • Aircraft Age - Years since aircraft manufacture (Available in Professional and Enterprise)

  • Aircraft Age Band - Aircraft categorised by age ranges: 0-2 years, 3-5 years, 6-10 years, 11-15 years, 16-20 years, 21+ years, or Unknown Age (Available in Professional and Enterprise)

Engine Information

  • Engine OEM - Original manufacturer of the aircraft engines (Bizav only)

  • Engine Model - Specific engine model (Bizav only)

Certification & Operations

  • Aircraft Certification - Commercial air transport certification types (principally FAA: Part-135, Part-91K, Part 91; also Europe/EASA = AOC)

  • Aircraft Configuration - Indicates whether aircraft is configured for cargo operations or not cargo

Location Attributes

Aircraft Base

  • Aircraft (Region, Sub-Region, City, Airport) - Derived from homebase airport which can be inferred from flight activity (emphasis in L12M)

  • Aircraft Base - Shows whether the departure is a tail which is Homebased departure airport, or transient (not departing from homebase) or Floating (does not have homebase) = Fractional and Charter operators.

Departure

  • Departure Airport - Name/ICAO/IATA code for airport from which aircraft departed

  • Departure Region/Sub-Region/Country/Quadrant/City - Geographic hierarchy from region to metro area (city-associated airports) for departures

  • Departure Hour - Hour of departure in UTC

  • Departure Weekday - Day of week for departure

Arrival

  • Arrival Airport - Name/ICAO/IATA code for airport where aircraft arrived

  • Arrival Region/Sub-Region/Country/Quadrant/City - Geographic hierarchy from region to metro area (city-associated airports) for arrivals

  • Arrival Hour - Hour of arrival in UTC

  • Arrival Weekday - Day of week for arrival

Flow

  • Flow (Region, City, Airport) - Identifies all flights connecting origin & destination

Operator Attributes

  • Operator Name - Operator name matched to flight plan and in-house fleet database

  • Operator Type - Classification of the operating entity: Aircraft Management, Ambulance/Medical, Branded Charter, Cargo/Logistics, Corporate Flight Department, Fractional Ownership, Government/Military, OEM, Private Flight Department, Shuttle, Training, or Under Research.

  • Entity Name - Name of entity which controls >1 operator AOC

  • Market Segment - Filter flight activity by: Business aviation, Scheduled, Cargo and all other fixed wing activity ("Other"), mainly airline charter missions

Activity Metrics

Flight Metrics

  • Hours - Duration of flight from wheels up to wheels down

  • Active Tails - Count of aircraft active during selected timeframe

  • Callsign Flight - Identifies whether flight has a call sign or not

  • Movement - Combined number of arrivals and departures

Distance & Duration Classifications

  • Distance Classification (nm) - Movement categorised by nautical mile distance bands (e.g., <100nm, 100–250nm). Note: wheels up to wheels down

  • Sector Length Classification (hours) - Movement categorised by flight duration bands (e.g., <30 minutes, 30–60 minutes). Note: wheels up to wheels down

Utilization

  • Hours Utilisation - Calculation of hours per aircraft per timeframe selected

  • Fleet Engagement - Shows average % of active fleet engaged in activity over L12M

  • Fleet Size Last 12M - Allows user to filter for different categories of active fleet size

  • Parking Band - Hours spent on ground before arrival and departures

Environmental Metrics

  • Fuel Emissions - Calculation of Jet A1 USG generated by sectors flown

  • CO2 Emissions - Calculation of CO2 tonnes emitted from fuel uplift from sectors flow

  • Fuel/Departure - Derived fuel required per departure

Ground Services

  • Supplier (at Departure Airport) - Ground services supplier present at departure airport (includes FBO, MRO and Fuel Providers). Note that some larger chains (Signature, Atlantic etc) are available for filter (all locations where present)

  • Supplier (at Arrival Airport) - Ground services supplier present at arrival airport (includes FBO, MRO and Fuel Providers). Note that some larger chains (Signature, Atlantic etc) are available for filter (all locations where present)

Time Filters

  • Timeframe - Filter activity by predefined periods (last year, last 12 months, year-to-date, month-to-date, last month, last 30 days, last 7 days), or customise with a custom date range (any date since Jan-19)

Trend Analysis

  • YOY Trend - % change in count (hours, deps, fuel, etc) compared to same period in previous year

  • YTD Trend - % change in count (hours, deps, fuel, etc) for period so far this year compared to same period in previous year

  • Rolling 7D Average Daily Activity - Sum of last 7D activity, divided by 7. Also shows YOY change

  • Forecast - Projected activity (hours, deps), shown for next 3 months

Comparative Analysis

  • Peer Ranking - Feature on dashboard which allows user to select up to 5 operators and review relative market share
